Dehydrated Apple Chips with Honey

Healthy snack with dehydrated apples flavored with honey

Equipment

  • 1 dehydrator
  • 1 apple peeler
  • 1 knife or slicer (mandoline)
  • 1 bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 5 cup water
  • 1/4L cup lemon juice
  • 6 pds apples

Instructions
 

  • Fill large bowl 1/2 full of water and add lemon juice. This is for holding apples as you core, peel and chop
  • Core, peel, chop apples into 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick slices
  • Add apples to standing water until all apples are cut up
  • Let apples sit 10 minutes in water
  • Spread apples on dehydrator sheets and dehydrate at 135 degrees for 5-7 hours. Check after 5 hours and continue until apples are not moist and feel leathery
  • You can add cinnamon or cinnamon sugar to apples slides before putting in dehydrator. Take out of water, spread on clean newspaper, sprinkle with cinnamon or cinnamon sugar and place in dehydrator.
