At the February 2, 2019 MSBA Meeting, Maryland State Apiarist Cybil Preston will introduce us all to the Fieldwatch/BeeCheck application.
Fieldwatch's mission is "to develop and provide easy-to-use, reliable, accurate and secure on-line mapping tools intended to enhance communications that promote awareness and stewardship activities between producers of specialty crops, beekeepers and pesticide applicators."
BeeCheck is an application for beekeepers that is meant to support "Communication + Cooperation + Collaboration = Successful Co-existence."
In her presentation, Cybil will help us learn how to log in and register so we can use the voluntary communication tool that enables crop producers, beekeepers, and pesticide applicators to work together to protect specialty crops and apiaries through use of mapping programs.
Maryland is just joining this activity, Cybil Preston our chief Apiary Inspector will walk us through how to join and participate.
